We are monitoring the situation with Hurricane Iselle as it nears the Hawaiian Islands. We will work closely with HPA Security, who has the primary responsibility for responding to and coordinating emergency situations, in ensuring the safety of the students while at HPA as we did last year with the tropical storm that passed through band camp.
Based on weather conditions, we will adjust the practice and activity schedule as needed, moving to in-door/covered facilities if prudent. In case of severe weather, students may be in a “lock-down” situation where they remain in their dorm. We will be in communication with HPA Security throughout and will brief students accordingly.
Communication with parents will be sent through various channels: mainly Seawind emails, Seawind Band Camp website (www.seawindbandtravel.com/punahou/bandcamp2014), and the Punahou Marching Band website (http://punsband.weebly.com/).
Please know that the security and safety of the students is the top priority while we are away.
