Marching Basics
We are looking forward to getting a chance to work with Mr. Roush this week. A special effort is taking place this year to make sure we have the best information to work with over the summer. We know a number of families travel before Summer School, but if on island, these experiences will drastically increase student and collective success. Please make every attempt to attend these sessions if possible.
Monday, 6/6 1-3:30 New members and section leaders - There will be "warm up" activities and about 2 hours of marching outside. Please bring your water bottle, sunscreen, hat, athletic shoes, comfortable clothes and instrument. We will start in the Mau Band Building.
Tuesday, 6/7 1-4 All members - Marching and activities, starting at Mau Band Building.
Instrument rentals – Monday 6/6 12:30
We will pass out instruments to all who submitted a form ahead of time at 12:30. We are working diligently to finish up the school year, while planning for the marching basics event. Your understanding is appreciated. If you did not submit a form, you won't receive an instrument today, but will be able to get one the following week.
Student leadership
After 56 applications and interviews, we made some difficult decisions. The drum majors have been working to notify students of positions. If students have not been notified yet of their roles, please contact one of the drum majors to update your phone number and find out the place we have for you.
Leadership will meet Monday, 6/6 from 10-noon starting at Mau. Pizza lunch will be provided and some help will be needed for the instruments at 12:30.
Leadership will also meet from 10-noon on Wednesday 6/8 in Bishop 111. Pizza lunch will again be provided.
Band Camp
A huge Mahalo goes to the 80% of the band that has registered for band camp. If you have not yet done so, please register with Seawind or confirm your conflict status with Mr. Falzarano. Significant planning, including the drill, written to accommodate the specific size of our band, takes place to ensure a quality experience for everyone. Mahalo for your kokua.
